Interior BC

In April 2021, my trusty camera, Kenai the dog and our even trustier chauffeur, tour guide and general babysitter, Bill, spent two days on what for normal folk might have been a few hour drive. Starting East on on Highway 7 out of Mission up to Highway 5, we stopped at captivating church and barn sites along the 5A Princeton-Kamloops Highway, saw beautiful old wooden houses on Coldwater Road South of Merritt, visited the Nicola Valley cemetery, and spent hours (and hours) at the Pritchard wooden bridge, stopping in Salmon Arm for the night. We drove Highway 97 down through Falkland, Vernon, and Oliver, indulged in warm olives and wine at the Hester Creek Winery in Osoyoos, saw deer and elk on the # 3 Crowsnest Highway on the way to Princeton, and even got to play in the snow in Manning Park. I was thrilled at the number of times beasties came over to pose for the camera - they seemed as fascinated by the eccentric photographer who stopped to visit as I was to see them.

Suffering a terrible case of tunnel vision, I all too often jumped headlong from the vehicle to capture a shot, abandoning Bill to catch flying lens caps, scarves and sweaters, and occasionally a dog intent on chasing deer with me by the side of the highway. He even sent me back to fetch my hat. But it was fun - so fun.

Really, I love taking photos.
